Perhaps the cargo hold or engine room, if the airship has one? If the lion is trying to hide from passengers, it will undoubtedly make for the least populated area, and such places would offer myriad hiding places.

It helps her come up with the answer though which is more stupid.] The cargo hold then which I presume it must have. There could still be people in the engine room maintaining the engine so if it truly did not want to be found I should think a cargo hold would be the best choice. [Not many people would wander in there, after all. Not while the ship is in motion at least.]
And I think I may know where to find it. [She motions for him to follow and leads the way to a door tucked under the stairs leading towards the captain's cabin. It doesn't have a sign on it but when she opens it there's a long staircase descending into pitch black.]
